Nutrition

Laurie Bricole-là daycare serves breakfast, lunch and a snack.

Our menu has been developed by a nutritionist, according to the recommendations of Canada’s food guide.

When it comes to nutrition, we consider it essential:

  • that menus be displayed and developed by a nutritionist according to the recommendations of Canada’s food guide;
  • that a wide variety of foods be presented to children in order to diversify their diet;
  • to respect the individual dietary preferences of children insomuch as these do not entail an unreasonable increase in workload;
  • to offer them one fruit for dessert per day.
  • That a wide variety of foods be presented to children to enable them to diversify their diet.
  • To respect the different diets of the children insofar as the extra work is not too great, otherwise the collaboration of the parent is necessary.
  • That the menu be developed taking into account Canada's Food Guide
In connection with Canada's food guide: In a meal plate, here are the proportions:
Half the plate of fruits and/or vegetables
¼ of protein foods (ex: tofu, nuts, meats, lentils, yogurt)
¼ of whole grain foods (ex: pasta, bread, rice, quinoa)
Water is the beverage of choice

Children are not allowed to bring snacks or food to the daycare.

In order to ensure the safety of children with severe allergies to peanuts, the daycare has eliminated all products containing peanuts from its menu.
